Padded armor was a type of battle armor, but was typically much lighter than most. This allowed more flexibility and movement to the wearer. Yet because of this, it was much less resistant to damage than the average battle armor. Padded armors offered protection against kinetic damage as well as from energy-based weapons like blasters.
