Bette Jo (Eastham) Alvey Evansville Dateline - Bette Jo (Eastham) Alvey, 59, passed away at the home of her daughter, Heather Orth in Newburgh IN on April 26, 2011. Bette Jo was formerly of Evansville IN and Ft. Meyers FL. She was a registered nurse and retired from Tri-State Medical and Rehabilitation Services in Evansville IN. Bette Jo loved the beach, her church, family, friends and cooking. She was very proud of her accomplishment of becoming a certified scuba diver. She was of the Christian Faith. Surviving Bette Jo are her husband, of 18 years, James M. Alvey; daughters, Heather Orth of Newburgh IN and Sarah Newton of Evansville IN; son, Jimmy Joe Alvey of Newburgh IN; sister, Nancy Evans of Glenwood IN; brother, Bill Eastham of Newburgh IN; granddaughter, Lexi Orth of Newburgh IN and a special sister, Anita Carlton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Velma Eastham and her sister, Linda Sue. Services for Bette Jo will be held at 12:00 pm, on Friday, April 29, 2011 from Bradley's Colonial Chapel in Boonville IN with Rev. Jamie Stilson officiating. Friends may call from 2 to 8 pm, Thursday and from 10 am until service time Friday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at 7 pm, Thursday evening. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Boonville IN. Contributions in memory of Bette Jo may be made to the University of Arkansas for Medical Services.
