Montbell says Highly weather-resistant, breathable, abrasion-resistant, and dry lining technology. This comfortable lightweight rain shell is suitable for your summer hiking trip and can be used not only in the rain but works excellently as a windshell. Our Verdict This, highly packable and very lightweight jacket boasts some impressive stats with a hydrostatic head of 30,000 and an MVTR (Moisture Vapour Transmission Rate) of 43,000, you can read more about both of these in our help and advice section below, but essentially, what these figures mean is, that the jacket is incredibly waterproof, but also highly breathable. The jacket has an active fit, that doesn’t run too long meaning it’s good to wear with a harness if the need arises. The hem of the jacket is cinched with a drawcord and the cuffs are adjusted with Velcro. The hood too is adjusted with a drawcord, whilst the back toggle is adjusted with Velcro, which is much easier to adjust with the jacket on.
