Rare war era novelty lingerie set. Soldiers stationed overseas would send these home as souvenirs to their sweethearts. These are a great color - between blue and purple. To my eye they are closer to purple but photograph rather blue. I'd say colors are most accurate in the first photo. Gorgeous strong satin, handmade and hand embroidered. Bra features pink embroidered text "Sour / Sweet / Dont Touch" on the cups, while panties are embroidered with butterflies surrounding a large yellow and pink flower surrounded by text. Normally these sets say "Gone with the Wind" but there is a spelling error! These instead read "Gohe witn the wind." These souvenirs were typically handmade and sold to soldiers by locals (typically East Asian or Pacific Islander) who were not native English speakers, likely the reason for such errors (I have seen only a few others over the years). Such a rare and wonderful historical collectors piece. Would be great framed. LAYAWAY is available for all items, please message me for details.
