I grew up about 25 minutes north of Manhattan, so going home for the holidays means hopping on a train (or hitching a ride, lucky me!) on Christmas Eve with nothing more than an overnight bag. Translation: I pack as light as humanly possible, which includes any pieces that do double-duty.
